Filzmoos has an excellent choice of Après Ski activities with something that will appeal to everyone, from fine dining in one of the gourmet restaurants, to hot air ballooning. For a real treat, visit Johanna Maier at the Hubertus restaurant. Johanna received the award of ‘4 chefs’ hats’, and is the only woman in Austria in the ‘champions’ league’ of chefs. She entered into the world of the haute cuisine and gained experience in the kitchens of the best chefs around the world in Munich, New York and Hong Kong.
She returned to Filzmoos and now runs the Gourmet Hotel Hubertus with her husband Dietmar.

Another way to view the magnificent scenery of Filzmoos is by hot air balloon. Rides are organized regularly throughout the winter season, with the international elite of hot air balloonists meeting every January for the ‘Hot Air Balloon Week’. On the 15th January 2012, we have the ‘Night of the Balloons’, when the village is alight with the spectacular sight of 40 inflated tethered balloons.

Picture the scene. A horse drawn sleigh, snorting horses and expectant warmly wrapped passengers, all looking forward to being whisked along effortlessly through the countryside, the cold air rushing by, nipping at their nose and cheeks.
Sleigh rides to the Hofalm and the Gsengalm are very special experiences and at the same time are wonderful memories of Filzmoos.
